Playtimes
At TGPASJ, we believe that playtime is important in the holistic development of our pupils. Children are able to engage in a range of activities including sports, playground games, construction and imaginative play with the resources on offer to them.
Children are encouraged to use their imaginations during the shorter morning play and so equipment is not permitted for that shorter time.
At lunchtime, children are supported by 2 employed sports coaches who manage a class each day playing football, while another coach delivers a different sporting game or skill for children on another area of the playground. This enables children to have access to learning different kinds of sporting skills and ensures that there are a variety of different activities that children can enjoy.
Building blocks, table tennis equipment, balance bars, basketball equipment, tyres and other play equipment are all available to spark the interests of the children and ensure that everyone has a fun time out of the classroom.
Children are able to attend various clubs that are run by children at lunchtimes if they would like some time to participate in quiet activities inside. This is a good opportunity for talk and connection and also to learn a new skill, meet some new friends or just take some down time from a busy working day.
EYFS have their own dedicated playground area with a variety of equipment available to them.
