This term, year 6 had the opportunity to dive deeper into their learning about WW2, visiting the Herbert Art Gallery and Coventry Transport Museum. The children got to demonstrate how equipment was used during the Blitz, focusing on different job roles and responsibilities and tried on uniforms and safety equipment. After exploring an authentic underground shelter and Anderson shelter, year 6 spent the afternoon at a Blitz simulation experience, walking through a recreated scene of an air raid and exploring vehicles used during blackout to keep civilians safe. Pupils were enthusiastic and loved the chance to show off their knowledge of WW2.
