Year 5 have been learning about the Sikhi world faith this year so we visited the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Parkash in Coventry. We were welcomed by the very knowledgeable Pav who shared lots of information about his faith. We were shown items that have been used in the past when the Sikhi community needed to protect themselves in war. We were also very lucky to be able to play musical instruments which are used to pray. Following that, we visited a hall where the instruments were being played, people were singing and respecting their faith. Finally we were invited to eat in the Langar hall, a meal prepared by volunteers and offered to any one who needs it. The children were very impressed with the food with many saying it was the best rice/vegetarian curry they had ever tasted!
