Mrs Joanna Luckhurst

Mrs Joanna Luckhurst

Teacher Governor

I am Jo Luckhurst, a teacher governor at the school for the last 5 years. I have worked at our Academy since before the time it became part of the Tudor Grange family in January 2013. This is the first year I can say that I have taught every child in the school from Year 2 upwards, it is a great pleasure to see all our children growing and developing in their own ways. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the journey which has seen the school grow into the amazing place it is today. I am privileged to work with a wonderful, dedicated, supportive team of staff and welcome the opportunity to represent their views as one of the governing body. As many know, I am passionate about science having had a career prior to teaching as a Fabric Technologist. As well as a lovely husband I have three grown up sons of whom I am immensely proud.

Miss Julie Skipp

Miss Julie Skipp

Community Governor

I am semi-retired and have lived in the area for over 40 years. Having benefited from an excellent education in Solihull, my focus is now to give back to the local community and in particular the schooling of our younger generation.

During my 31 year professional career I was responsible for developing and implementing high level workplace strategies for public and private sector clients across the UK and Europe. This included working with Universities and Colleges in the design of their learning spaces.

Employing the knowledge and skills I have gained, my aim is now to help optimise the education, well-being and future opportunities for the children at St. James Academy and to support our dedicated teaching staff.
